Engineering Survey

Supervising Director: Andrew Mason: This landmark project was awarded to Multiplex Constructions Pty Ltd in the lead-up to the Sydney Olympics in 2000. Our Company was engaged by Multiplex to provide all surveying services during construction of this technically difficult job, with our surveyors being the first workmen on the site when it was a paddock. Our work included:


  • Establishing & maintaining survey control stations during construction for the various subcontractors;

  • Setting out construction elements;

  • Monitoring construction elements, including the steel arches;

  • Regular reports to the Client in respect to movement of the steel arches;

  • Check surveys of subcontractors’ work;

  • Final certification

Taronga Zoo

Topographical Surveys

Supervising Director: Ken Holder: Frank M Mason & Co Pty Ltd has been engaged for 15 years in the ongoing modernisation of this world famous landmark at Mosman. The firm was engaged to establish a network of control marks through out the zoo to assist with the construction of a zoological show piece. Our work on this project included:


  • Establishing control marks throughout the Zoo and create a Master Plan

  • Carrying out further surveys in nominated areas to establish the levels and positions of existing exhibits to assist with the planning of new exhibits

Wharf at Woolloomooloo

Stratum Subdivision Plans

Supervising Director: Andrew Mason: This well know icon was refurbished and developed into a residential, commercial and hotel precinct in 2004. Our work on this project included:


  • Design of subdivision strategy and preparation of draft plans of subdivision;

  • Identification of easements;

  • Preparation and submission of Development Applications to Sydney City Council for subdivision;

  • Preparation of final Subdivision Plans, including 4 Deposited Plans and 5 Strata Plans;

  • Preparation of Easement Instruments in conjunction with the Project Legal Team.

Goldsbrough Mort Building

Strata Titles

Supervising Director: Andrew Mason: This heritage property is located in the Darling Harbour Precinct and involved the conversion of an 8 storey brick and timber wool store into a 14 storey residential development comprising approximately 600 units. Our initial engagement included designing a subdivision strategy and preparation of draft Strata Plans for annexure to Sales Contracts. We were also engaged by the builder to provide construction surveying services that included the surveying of every timber column within the existing building. Finally we prepared two Strata Plans comprising approximately 600 units and an Easement Plan including stratum limitations.


Chifley Tower, Sydney

High-Rise Construction

Supervising Director: Ken Holder: Chifley Tower is one of the prestigious architectural office buildings within the Sydney CBD and we were engaged at the commencement of the construction as the Project Surveyors. Our work on this project included:


  • Marking out boundaries and column footing positions during excavations;

  • Marking architectural gridlines on every level up to the roof;

  • Monitoring the verticality and position of the lift shafts, and steel columns;

  • Constant checking of the floor levels;

  • Final Identification Survey;

  • On-going Lease Area Surveys

Chatswood Chase

Lease Area Surveys

Supervising Director: Andrew Mason: Our Company has been involved with the Chatswood Chase Shopping Centre from it's construction in the 1980’s to the present. In the late 1990’s and early this century, it underwent a major renovation to turn it into an A Grade Shopping centre that was competitive with the nearby Westfield Development. Chatswood Chase now attracts some of the highest returns per square metre for shopping centres within the Sydney metropolitan area. After its refurbishment, we were responsible for preparing lease area plans for over 100 retail shops within the centre, including David Jones, Coles and Kmart.

Subdivision - Kellyville

Supervising Director: Andrew Mason: This Project is ongoing and will have a total yield of approximately 180 residential lots. Our Company has managed this Project since Stage 1, including the following:
